𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙈𝙚 Hi, I’m Vincent — a 40-year-old investor who’s been in the markets since I was 25. I joined eToro back in 2017, initially as a copy trader following great Popular Investors like Jaynemisis, JeppeKirkBonde, and CPHequities. In 2023, I stopped copy-trading and started flying solo — although, truth be told, on eToro you’re never truly alone. That same year, I moved all my liquid assets (excluding crypto) to eToro. I don’t just have skin in the game — I’ve got almost all my skin in the game. I believe investing and trading is a never-ending learning journey. You learn through courses (currently going through Level 3 CISI Wealth and Investment Management), you learn through others — but I feel you learn most from your mistakes. I keep a journal in which I write down all my trade entries, exits, and results. Reviewing them regularly keeps me humble. I think no investor is ever flawless, but by reviewing our mistakes, we can learn and strive to do better next time. ________________________________________ 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙮 I started as a classic buy-and-hold investor. Time in the market, not timing the market, was my mantra. I diversified widely, holding 50+ stocks across sectors. But years like 2018 and 2022 taught me that markets recover, while many stocks don’t. History shows that a small fraction of companies generate the majority of returns — and beating the market by holding broad baskets isn’t easy. It’s not impossible mind you — it’s just not my way anymore Today, I’m a 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙢 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧. I combine macro insights with fundamental and technical analysis to identify entry points. Exits depend on context: a shift in market direction, fundamentals, macro conditions, or sometimes simple profit-taking when a position is extended. My guiding principle now:𝙘𝙪𝙩 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙖𝙨𝙩, 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙧𝙪𝙣. ________________________________________ 🎯𝙂𝙤𝙖𝙡𝙨 • My first financial goal is to take my account to $1,000,000. If I average 20% a year, that will take about 8.5 years without additional contributions. If I average 25%, it will take a little less than 7 years. (Compounding calculators are great — I advise everyone to play around with your numbers and see the power of compounding for yourself.) • A less relevant but fun goal I’ll set for myself from 2026 onwards is to 2x the S&P’s return on a yearly basis. Time will tell whether that’s realistic, overly ambitious, or just plain arrogant — but you’ve got to dream big 😉 • Have $1,000,000 AUM or more. 👥𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 Since eToro is a social platform, I also have social goals: We’ve all had our educators, teachers, and gurus to get us where we are. I’m very appreciative of mine. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on books, courses, and financial services to get where I am today. One of my goals is to save you money and share what I’ve learned with you. Bear in mind, I don’t claim that the way I trade on eToro is the only way to succeed in the financial markets — it’s just the way that works for me. ________________________________________ 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 Outside the charts, I’m a chiropractor and owner of a private clinic in Bussum, the Netherlands. I still work in my clinic part-time. I’m also a father of three boys — simultaneously the joy and chaos of my life (parents will understand). I recharge in nature — hiking, trail running, mountain biking, especially in the mountains which we unfortunately lack in the Netherlands. And when I’m not trading or treating patients, being a bit of a nerd, I like diving into a good sci-fi or fantasy novel.
