Dear copiers and followers, Welcome to the other side. March has been brutal. I partly blame myself for jinxing our success. April brought a much needed breath. We are not back to all-time highs yet, but we are getting there. Please remember, volatility is the name of the game now. I am finally selling Skyworks Solutions. It looks like Broadcom and Qualcomm will take over most of the business; another case of big fish eating the smaller one. I finally pulled the plug. Skyworks was one of our smallest market cap positions. The other small-cap positions, A. O. Smith and McCormick, are also on shaky ground. The market is teaching me not to bet on the small player, but to focus on the larger, more dominant companies. On the macro side, we’re in a dense news cycle. A wave of major earnings is underway, with more coming this week. At the same time, several G7 central banks are making rate decisions, including the Federal Reserve. 3 megacap tech companies are reporting on Wednesday, same day as the FED, with Apple on Thursday. There’s also political activity, including developments around Kevin Warsh. With so much happening, it’s not easy to stay calm — but again, volatility is the new normal. I did not associate anything happening with the war because while people are suffering, associating our financial fortunes with the hardship they are feeling seemed wrong. I have a sister living in the region, going through part of the hardship. I hope people would go back to their normal lives soon and this fragile ceasefire would end hostilities. Stay safe, and happy investing, Mehmet
