I am a "long only" investor in equities/Exchange Traded Funds. My investment timeframe is 5–8 years – starting in 2022. I do make short term tactical trades. But I do not engage in excessively risky (from my point of view) trading in crypto, shorting stocks, or borrowing to maximise gains (leverage). (The latter also amplifies losses!) I use stop losses for all positions. I will tolerate a loss of up to 20% on a long term hold but otherwise cut losses over 20%.
