PART 2 The analysis of the FY24 of the Hera Group will be divided into two parts, as it was very long. This is the second part. We have analyzed the EBITDA before (I recommend you read the NOTE at the beginning of the post if you have not done so), now let's see how the segments in which the multi-utility operates have contributed to this result. Let's start by saying that it is the third operator in terms of customers served, regarding the sale of energy. ENVIRONMENT The Hera Group ranks first in Italy in terms of waste treated. This segment contributed 23.1% with €367 mln to EBITDA. The strong commitment to the green transaction and decarbinization is noticeable. The technologies that the multi-utility uses, the efforts and capital lavished on R&D and the commitment to targeted M&A operations with the aim of enhancing its recycling and circular economy capabilities contribute a lot. Many strategic partnerships have also been signed to achieve this goal. We will talk about these topics (M&A and partnerships) in another section of this analysis. WATER It is the second largest operator in terms of volumes disbursed. Water contributed 18.7% with €297.1 mln to EBITDA. Hera is always focused on water analysis, with innovative systems capable of regenerating dirty water. Attention is also paid to predicting any leaks along the entire distribution network, in order to intervene promptly with the appropriate repairs to avoid waste and loss of this precious asset. GAS It is the fourth largest operator in terms of volumes disbursed. Gas contributed 36% with €571.4 mln to EBITDA. Recall that energy prices have increased since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, although over time they have stabilized, gas prices have increased considerably for the end consumer. The increase is due to the return of variability in energy markets for the year 2024, which compensated for the lack of non-recurring business opportunities, as was the case in 2023 with the ecobonus and lower customer consumption due to milder seasons. Approximately €180.5 million of gross investments were allocated to the maintenance of gas and district heating networks and plants and to the acquisition of new customers. Throughout 2024, the activity of replacing gas meters continued, with the strengthening of the partnership with Panasonic Industry Europe to expand the use of the innovative NextMeter meter in the Italian and European landscape (I talked about this new meter patented by Hera in partnership last year). ELECTRICITY It is the fifth largest operator in terms of volumes disbursed. It contributed 20.3% with €322 to EBITDA. In addition, it is the fourth public lighting operator for managed lighting points. This and other small businesses contributed 1.9% to EBITDA with €30.1 million. --------------------- ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION A Legislative Decree has introduced the possibility of establishing the figure of the Manager in charge of sustainability certification and reporting, as part of the European Green Deal. Article 29 of the Social Partnership has therefore been amended in order to outline the appointment methods and requirements for this new figure. OTHER RESOLUTIONS AND BUYBACKS On the basis of the new regulations in force, an integration of the fee of KPMG, the auditing firm appointed for the period 2024-2032, was approved. Opened in share buyback plan for €240 million over 18 months. With this resolution, last year's buyback resolution for the part not executed was cancelled. $HER.MI (Hera SPA)
