$BFIT.NV (Basic-Fit N.V) is moving higher today following news that the company has received approval to operate 24/7 staffless clubs in France. This is an important regulatory change, as France is one of Basic‑Fit’s core markets and staff costs are a meaningful part of the cost base. Management expects this to allow a gradual transition toward more 24/7 clubs. That said, while the news is clearly positive, I’m not convinced the magnitude of today’s move is fully justified on its own. The rollout will take time and comes with specific conditions. For me, the more important next milestone is Capital Markets Day on April 21, where management is expected to give more detail on strategy going forward, particularly around the franchise model following the Clever Fit acquisition. That event should provide better visibility on long‑term returns, capital allocation, and how the franchise strategy fits into the broader growth plan.
