SpaceX: my personal take on this SpaceX has all the ingredients for an exciting movie. Erratic visionary at the top, massive placement to institutional investors, huge flow to retail. Musk knows how to time the market for himself. He is very good at it. With barely any sales and prospects relying on Space exploration, AI business and satellites (this one is actually a good business), a lot of the future is extremely unknown. Not only that, the profitability of those future businesses is unknown. They rely on government policy partly, which is not an easy one to anticipate. As attractive as the idea behind SpaceX sounds, the probability of predicting future cash flows with any degree of certainty is difficult. Even trying to figure out the presence of moats is not given, nor their durability. It really falls outside of my cercle of competence in many ways, but I would also be very uncomfortable holding a business that is run to maximise the CEO's wealth and goals, rather than those of shareholders. I stick to what I think I know, and that is a small subset of the investable universe that certainly does not include SpaceX.
