June was a strong month for markets, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 hitting record highs, driven by renewed tech optimism—particularly around AI and chip stocks like Nvidia and AMD. Defense and cybersecurity sectors rallied following geopolitical events in the Middle East; crude spiked to $75 before falling back to $65.
The Fed and Bank of England held rates steady amid geopolitical and trade uncertainty, while the ECB cut by 25bps. The US dollar slumped, posting its worst half-year since the 1980s.
In crypto, Bitcoin gained while Ethereum slipped, as the US Senate passed the GENIUS Act, laying the groundwork for stablecoin regulation.
