United Kingdom
Hi everyone, Here’s are my personal notes of the different highlights that’s been moving the market this week and how I see it affecting our portfolio: ➡️ U.S. equities, which is the market where we are the most invested, pushed to higher highs ignoring the government shutdown, driven by optimism ahead of next quarter earnings and easing long-term yields. ➡️ In the UK, the FTSE 100 hit a record high again, helped by strength in pharmaceutical names. AstraZeneca’s plan for a full U.S. listing made headlines. I am not planning on investing in the company but I will definitely keep an eye on it. ➡️ Across both markets, my attention turned towards politics and policy: Washington gridlock, interest rate expectations, and central bank guidance are influencing sentiment. I find that there are elevated macro risks but it is nothing new since it has started since Trump became President. I’m leaning toward maintaining exposure in quality names that we are holding for a while now Hope you are having a nice weekend, Guillaume Serdan
