Today, August 1, 2026, I made my regular monthly deposit into the portfolio.
Regularly adding new capital can help a portfolio grow over time, because it increases the invested base and allows capital to enter the market at different moments. In periods of volatility, as we have seen recently, it can also help average down the purchase price of some assets.

My current plan is to make regular deposits on the first day of the month, usually between 1% and 2% of my portfolio value.
A deposit of this size should not trigger any major portfolio realignment in most cases.
Today’s deposit is equal to approximately 1.572% of my portfolio.
If you are copying me, you may receive a notification from eToro suggesting that you add funds to your copy.
At this point, you generally have 2 options:
1️⃣ DO NOTHING
If you do nothing, probably nothing significant will happen.
For most copiers, a deposit of this size should have a very limited impact. If your copy is large enough, your portfolio may automatically synchronize with mine after some time, so that the percentage of cash and the percentage invested in each asset remain aligned with my portfolio.
2️⃣ ADD FUNDS IN THE SAME PROPORTION OR MORE
This option may make sense only if you were already planning to add capital to your copy and were simply waiting for a good moment.
If you add approximately the same percentage within a couple of days, your copy should remain broadly aligned with my portfolio, without requiring a major synchronization.
If you add more than my percentage, new purchases may be made inside your copy.
In general, I do not suggest adding capital only because of a notification. Adding funds should always be part of your own plan.
There are no wrong options. The right choice is the one that is consistent with your financial situation, your time horizon and your understanding of how copy trading works.
I also remind you that, although the minimum copy amount on eToro is $200, for my portfolio I generally consider $500 a more appropriate minimum copy size.

Please pay attention to the notification suggesting that you add capital.
Due to a formatting issue, the decimal separator may appear as a comma, and the number after the comma may contain 3 digits instead of the usual 2. This can be misleading.
