Oil prices are falling sharply following Trump’s recent statements suggesting that the war is nearing a resolution—or rather, Iran’s unconditional surrender. The markets are reacting positively, but it is worth noting that what is happening is nothing new. Since the U.S. and Iran reached a ceasefire (April 8), President Trump has consistently stated that the war would end soon and that Iran no longer has any weapons at its disposal. As of today, according to a New York Times report (www.nytimes.com/2026/05/12/us/politics/iran-missiles-us-intelligence.html), we know this is not the case; Iran still has a large stockpile of missiles, yet the markets continue to believe his words. Is a final agreement really close, or is this just another bluff to keep oil prices down? finance.yahoo.com/news/oil-prices-ease-trump-says-013901463.html $SPX500 $OIL $EuroOIL $NATGAS $OIL.24-7
