Hello Ladies and Gentlemen!
The market has been quite volatile lately as the conflict in the middle east continues. I do not like to try and predict the future, so I have no idea if this will be over quick or not, both the conflict and its implications on oil and the stock market. However as always, I remain optimistic for stocks and will continue buying when I am able. The more the market declines, the better deals we will find.
The small rebound yesterday is a good example of why market timing is so hard to pull off. If you had of sold yesterday due to the decline in the market, you would realise the loss, then missed the rebound, then what to do today? If it continues to go up, you miss the rebound after realising the losses.

Lets be honest, no one likes opening up their trading account and seeing a whole lot of red on the screen, so what to do if the market pulls back?
There is a few important points I often remind myself.

Often when the market declines, all stocks take a hit. Even those that are still doing well, still decline. But if you know your companies are financially healthy, making money, you have nothing to worry about!

No one who invests in the stock market for a long period of time has not experienced some negative periods. That is fine and all part of the process. Stocks go up and down like a rollercoaster. We just have to buy when we can, and enjoy the highs.

We often get so caught up in the dollar value of the shares, its easy to forget about the quantity of the shares. If the market is declining, this is a great time to buy more shares. The market may continue to decline, but you will own more and more of the companies you like. Then when the rebound happens, you make money a lot faster.
