Being in Abu Dhabi, I experienced firsthand how quickly events around the UAE unfolded and how rapidly market sentiment can change. Situations like this are exactly why I’ve been maintaining a defensive portfolio structure. A significant portion remains in short-term, lower-volatility instruments and Treasuries. Within equities, I keep selective exposure to defense and gold. In periods of rising geopolitical tension, defense companies often see sustained support, while gold tends to provide balance when uncertainty increases. I don’t try to predict headlines. I focus on managing risk so short-term volatility doesn’t turn into larger drawdowns. February closed in green, reinforcing that a disciplined, risk-first approach can work even when the global environment feels unstable. Now we’ll see how March develops and what opportunities volatility may create. Protecting capital comes first. Long-term growth is built on that discipline. $NEM (Newmont Mining Corp) $RHM.DE (Rheinmetall AG) $SAF.PA (SAFRAN)
