πŸ’₯ 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐀𝐞𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐬: Hot CPI, Oil at $100, and Crypto Rotation 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐭𝐨-𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞: +πŸπŸπŸ’% 𝐒𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐒𝐭 Hi everyone! If you missed the past day in markets, here’s what actually mattered for our portfolio. Stocks slipped after a hotter‑than‑expected CPI print. Inflation ticked up, oil pushed toward $100, and yields stayed elevated. That combination pressured growth names and reminded investors that rate cuts are not a straight line. Tech felt it. Higher oil and sticky inflation weighed on multiples, particularly in AI‑linked names that have run hard. When macro tightens, even strong secular stories can see short‑term compression. On the AI infrastructure side, analysts are again projecting strong upside scenarios for Nvidia this year. The broader narrative hasn’t changed: the AI chip supercycle is intact, but expectations are high. Execution and forward guidance will matter more than headlines from here. Memory is quietly riding the wave. Micron’s strength helped push a DRAM‑focused ETF above $6.5B in assets. That’s a signal of real capital rotating into the picks‑and‑shovels layer of AI, not just the headline GPU names. Crypto pulled back modestly, with Bitcoin and Ethereum both lower on the day. Nothing structural changed, but the move shows how sensitive digital assets remain to macro liquidity and rates. Interestingly, we’re seeing divergence inside crypto equities. MARA sold part of its Bitcoin holdings to fund an AI data center expansion. A strategic pivot toward infrastructure. At the same time, analysts maintained an β€œoutperform” rating on CleanSpark despite a Q2 miss. The market seems willing to look through short‑term noise if the long‑term compute thesis stays intact. Meanwhile, yields on savings accounts, CDs, and money markets are hovering around 4%. That creates real competition for equities and partly explains why rallies stall when inflation surprises to the upside. Capital now has alternatives. 𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐀𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲: The AI and crypto structural stories remain alive, but macro is back in control. In this environment, I’m watching balance sheets, cash flow durability, and who can fund growth without depending on cheap money.
