πŸ”” WHAT ARE STOCK ? Investing in stocks might seem complex, but it is one of the best ways to grow your money over time. Daily market fluctuations can be disconcerting, especially if you're not familiar with how it works. Therefore, it’s crucial to understand what a stock is and why its price changes constantly. Here’s a simple explanation of what a stock is and why its value can go up or down. A stock represents a share of ownership in a company. When you buy a stock, you acquire a small portion of that company. This gives you certain rights, such as voting on important company decisions and receiving dividends, which are distributions of the company’s profits. The price of stocks is not fixed and varies daily due to the dynamics of buying and selling on the stock market. The price of a stock rises or falls mainly due to supply and demand. If there are more buyers than sellers, the price tends to go up. Conversely, if there are more sellers than buyers, the price tends to go down. Additionally, expectations about the company's future performance play a crucial role. For example, if a company reports strong earnings or launches an innovative product, it may attract more investor interest and drive the stock price up. Conversely, if the company faces financial difficulties or bad news, the price may fall. Currently, many investors are experiencing significant price drops in the market. This can be attributed to various factors such as inflation, rising interest rates, or global economic instability. Price declines are often driven by perceptions of risk, where investors may fear that adverse economic conditions will negatively impact companies. During times of economic uncertainty, such as recessions or financial crises, increased volatility and declines in stock values are common. External events, such as changes in economic policy, geopolitical conflicts, and international news, can also affect stock values. When the economic environment is uncertain or negative, investors tend to sell their stocks to mitigate risks, which can lead to price drops. It is normal for stock prices to fluctuate daily. However, over the long term, companies with strong fundamentals tend to grow, and their stocks usually appreciate. For this reason, many investors choose to hold onto their stocks even during price declines, anticipating that their value will increase over time. As Warren Buffett, one of the most renowned investors in the world, once said: "The stock market is a mechanism for transferring money from the impatient to the patient." This quote highlights the importance of patience in the world of investing. Although price drops can be discouraging, maintaining a long-term perspective and not succumbing to panic can be key to succeeding in the stock market. Keep learning something new every day and you will be surprised how far you can go. I hope you have success in your journey! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm @DiegoUbal, if you liked my content you can add me to your watchlist to stay updated on my posts and movements on $SPX500, $CRWD (Crowdstrike Holdings), $NVDA (NVIDIA Corporation), $NFLX (Netflix, Inc.), $BTC, $NVO (Novo-Nordisk A/S SPONS ADR) Click here to view my portfolio: www.etoro.com/people/diegoubal/portfolio Click here to view my performance: www.etoro.com/people/diegoubal ------------------------------------------------------------------------ .
