Dear Fellow Investors, I hope you are all well and happy to say we continued our upward trend in October. We once again saw new all-time highs which has been pushed up by the Nasdaq and until recently the Gold and Silver surge. October Summary October +1.34% YTD +28.61% 2 Yr Return +73.77% All Time Return +246.07% Risk Level 3 October Total Trades 45 Successful Trades 97.8% Annualised Return 27.16% Dividend Yield 2.21% Total Cash 48.65% All stats are taken from bullaware.com/etoro/GEMOLFund for open and transparent viewing. We closed a number of positions this month as I was looking to get to 50% cash so we are prepared for a pull back, so that we can capitalise like we did in April. I feel we are very close to having a major pullback and want to be ready, however on the flip side Trump will do anything to raise the markets and keep interest rates down. I think we will end the presidential cycle on a high however that we will have some bumps in the road. Selected Top Gainers in September $INTC (Intel) +19.7% $FSJ.L (James Fisher & Sons PLC) +13.88% $RIO.L (Rio Tinto) +11.93% $AMZN (Amazon.com Inc) +10.19% $NVDA (NVIDIA Corporation) +8.74% $SHEL.L (Shell PLC) +7.38% We had some great gains from the precious metals sector and we sold all of our positions just before it peaked. It has since come back down and I expect a continued pullback. I had been selling for a while and gladly we exited before the stocks fell back. I could have probably held on longer in hindsight, but we made profit, took the win and reinvested elsewhere. Worst Losers Tate and Lyle –14.26% B&M - 31.67% SEA - 12.76% We saw Tate and Lyle down again. Just as well I have earned more in dividends than it is down, but still not a great performance. B&M missed its guidance and SEA fell on a lowering of its rating. This month despite increasing our cash we are still trading and we bought a number of new companies. $META (Meta Platforms Inc) was added after if dropped, despite strong revenues some one of payments impacted its results. $PYPL (PayPal Holdings) was increased as I feel this will return strongly and has been largely forgotten for the other new payment platforms. It has strong financials and a low P/E ratio, which i like. We also added Petrobras (10.90%) and Victorex (9.39%) two dividend shares that I feel will rise long term. Oil stocks are fairly low at the moment so I have shifted from precious metals to oil stocks so that we can hopefully enjoy a good dividend and a great upside. We sold all our positions in gold and silver just before the peak which was great as we managed to get good prices and could move these funds to other positions. Other positions liquidated were... SEA, AG, PAAS, Barrick Gold, Prudential and Legal and General. We made some good monies from these so time to take profits. I like to enter industries that are cyclical and oil is bottoming at the moment. We added to last months purchases of BP and Shell this month. November will see us earn dividends from P&G, Wetherspoons, Persimmon and Barratt-Redrow. Although the UK housing market isnt particularly strong the dividends are good and I feel it will rise again. U.S. Government Shut Down continues The U.S. government shut down continues and we are now into month 2. Many workers have been furloughed and others will be sacked out right. I know Trump is looking to downsize the government however time is running out for many federal workers so this needs to be sorted quickly. I bet if the politicians weren't awash with lobbyists cash they would soon want a deal. New Shares Finally we are looking to add a few positions this month. I am looking at $ETOR (eToro Group LTD) however we know that most new IPO's give their staff a lock in period of 6 months to hold their shares before they sell. With this in mind I will wait until November 11th and then wait for it hopefully to bottom out before buying in. There will be a number of staff given free shares who will want to cash out straight away and so we will wait for them to exit. Any questions as normal please do not hesitate to contact me and that's all for this month and I will update again next month. Take Care, Gavin @GEMOLFund
