Next FED meeting: What to expect? I believe the market generally places too much emphasis on Powell’s words, almost as if the FED’s policy hinges entirely on him. While it’s understandable that people focus on what he says—given his role as Chair of the Federal Reserve and his influence on global economic policy—this attention can be somewhat misleading. In reality, Powell's influence on FED policies is limited, as the decisions ultimately lie with the shareholders of the FED, guided by the dual mandate of maximum employment and stable prices. The true purpose of these policies, however, remains unclear to many. Wherever the owners decide, that’s the direction we’re heading.
