AMD and Shopify Earnings!! Two big positions for the portfolio reported earnings yesterday. Both stocks went down after their reports, but the actual numbers and business are trending up, in a great way. $AMD (Advanced Micro Devices Inc) Revenue +35.6 % Net Income +42.5 % Earnings per share + 40.7% Every single segment of AMD’s business is improving. Growth rates are accelerating (and will continue to do so for a long time). So why is the stock down after earnings? Because of market sentiment. People are feeling a bit risk-off. The Nasdaq is down 3% since it’s ATH last week, and the market is trending lower. Nothing more to it. The future is very bright for AMD! $SHOP (Shopify Inc.) Revenue +31.5 % Operating income +21.2 % Shopify missed some numbers this past quarter, but their guidance indicates great times to come in the future. They expect revenue to keep growing at a ”mid- to high-twenties range”, compared to Wall Street estimates of 23%. Nothing to worry about here for Shopify, great times ahead. $QQQ (Invesco QQQ) $SPY (State Street SPDR S&P 500 ETF) $SPX500
