Weekly Update 🟢 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗬𝗧𝗗: +1.62% 🟢 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝟮𝗬: +59.2% (Since Jan 2024) Hi everyone. Today, US markets are closed due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day. However, we have several company updates to go through. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 🔹 $NET (Cloudflare) announced two acquisitions: Astro (a popular web framework) and Human Native (a content offering platform targeted at AI companies). I believe both acquisitions are smart, especially Astro, which allows Cloudflare to use a playbook similar to Vercel's: Own the framework, keep it open-sourced, but optimize it to be deployed on your platform. Astro is currently one of the fastest-growing web frameworks, powering the documentation and sites for major brands like Porsche, IKEA, Microsoft, and OpenAI. 🔹 $GOOG (Alphabet) rolled out Gemini "Personal Intelligence" in beta in the US, letting Gemini connect (opt-in) to apps like Gmail, Photos, YouTube, and Search to answer with more personal context. As I commented multiple times, I believe Google will be one of the biggest winners in AI. Similarly to most technologies, as they mature, their capabilities/performance/costs start getting similar between the top competitors (see mobiles, cloud computing, etc). This means that at the end of the day, distribution and personalization are the keys to success, not the model itself. And no company has better distribution and access to personal data than Google. 🔹 $AMZN (Amazon.com Inc) AWS made the European Sovereign Cloud generally available (first region in Brandenburg, Germany), positioned as a physically and logically separate EU-based environment for regulated customers. 🔹 $MU (Micron Technology, Inc.): Micron signed an LOI to acquire Powerchip’s P5 fab site in Taiwan for $1.8B, adding significant cleanroom space and extending Micron’s DRAM capacity runway. The closing timeline (2H 2026) and ramp (late 2027) make this a medium-term supply-side commitment tied to AI-driven memory demand. 🔹 $AAPL (Apple) announced Apple Creator Studio, a subscription bundle of its pro creative apps with new AI-driven features across Keynote, Pages, and Numbers (including image generation/editing via OpenAI models).
