𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 Trump and the Iranian president signed a memorandum of understanding laying out the terms of the expected peace deal. It included opening of the Strait, unfreezing Iranian assets, lifting embargoes on Iranian oil and a statement that Iran cannot develop nuclear weapons. The actual handling of existing nuclear material is not addressed in detail, stating only minimum standards how it can be handled. The deal should be finalized within 60 days but the follow up actions and negotiations seem to be once again problematic. FED had its first meeting under the new chair Kevin Warsh. The result was an unchanged rate, which was expected but presented projections show higher likelihood of rate hikes later in the year. Earlier this year, many expected rate cuts so the new trajectory was followed by a market sell-off. Perhaps related to that, we have seen a general sell-off of space related names after the $SPCX (Space Exploration Technologies Corp) IPO, which affected our positions in $RKLB (Rocket Lab Corp) and $ASTS (AST SpaceMobile Inc). Since we have trimmed these at the top, the effect on the portfolio is not significant. $RKLB and $CRWV (CoreWeave Inc) announced they will be added to the Nasdaq 100 index on June 22, which should help bring more demand for the stock from passive investors buying or copying the index.
