I think Tesla is one of the most dangerous shorts you can get involved with. It is fundamentally misunderstood by almost all retail and many institutional traders, and is subject to wild and often insanely inaccurate media spin. Remember the Lidar video, or the claims that they were failing in Europe? People fell for that rubbish. Crucially, where shorts can blow up very quickly, Tesla will slowly drain short positions over time and leave them with nasty overnight fees. It is a contentious stock. As a fan of the company, I took some feverish abuse from some of the more unhinged Tesla bears on here over the years. Coincidentally, most of them blew up.
