The company repriced closer to fair valuation and the position also helped to limit correlation with tech and AI, but at the moment, I view further potential as limited. No other changes. ๐๐ž๐ฐ๐ฌ $SPCX (Space Exploration Technologies Corp) went public at $1.77 trillion market cap, raising $75 billion. That makes it the biggest IPO in history. The stock now trades 28% higher making the market cap approximately $2.5 trillion. I'm bullish on space technologies and optimistic about space datacenter constellations, but I don't see the opportunity to invest as compelling yet. The IPO was priced very high, with AI being the vast majority of the total addressable market that the company is going after. I also did not like the timing of the two extremely lucrative deals with Anthropic and $GOOG (Alphabet), which rented compute from $SPCX, more than doubling revenue of the company shortly before the IPO. I also think it will take some time for SpaceX to change their approach to heatsild from heat tiles to an actively cooled heatshield as the only reliable solution for rapid reusability of the second stage of Starship. In my view, we will likely see better entry points. It is widely reported that $AMZN (Amazon.com Inc) played an important role in the recent US Government export ban on the Fable 5 AI model by Anthropic. Amazon reportedly shared concerns with the government that Fable 5 can be jailbroken and used to find cyber vulnerabilities to be expoloited. The administration required Anthropic to fix the issue which Anthropic refused to do. The administration reacted by issuing the export ban which banned Anthropic from providing Fable 5 to any foreign nationals. Anthropic decided to suspend access to the model for everyone as they likely do not currently have the means to verify nationality or are not willing to do so. It is very interesting to see $AMZN be the โ€œwhistleblowerโ€ while they have significant ownership of Anthropic and sell a lot of compute to it as well. The incentives for $AMZN should be to help Anthropicโ€™s business as much as possible. Perhaps this is what Amazonโ€™s management will drive the best long-term result for Anthropic as they help protect the company from reputational damage that could happen to Anthropic if Fable 5 wes widely misused.
