Dear Investors, This month, I have started working towards setting up the portfolio in a way that reduces unnecessary correlations and has 1 or 2 strong convictions in a sector, along with adding defensive assets. After doing some research and going over the portfolio, I have picked out assets that need to be trimmed, removed, or added to the portfolio. I am working on a post outlining what I will be doing and why. This will be a slow process. I don’t want to make lots of big changes to the portfolio all at once, but in the long term, I believe this will improve the portfolio in all scenarios, while still focusing on long-term resilience. I will get this post out to you by the end of the week. For now, here is the portfolio update for last month. πŸ“… Monthly update: July Current stats: πŸ“ˆ July Return: -2.11% πŸ“ˆ Year-to-Date (YTD) Return: 11.29% πŸ“Š Copiers' Profitability: 98.36% πŸ“ˆ 2 Year Return: 174.27% (Correct at time of writing) Portfolio update: Last month started off great, hitting new all-time highs early before finishing at -2.11%. There was a lot of shuffling around this month, taking some profits and risk off the table and also just closing out some tiny positions. The drop affected most of our top holdings, with CP leading the way, dropping around 7% for the month. This is one asset that has been earmarked to be removed since it has been holding the portfolio up for a while now. Another stock I removed was CB. This was due to having a number of different finance stocks that all have a similar risk profile, which is what I am trying to reduce in the portfolio. Assets I added this month are IEF and XLV, I will explain more about why these have been added in the post mentioned above. New positions: IEF 7-10 year bonds XLV Increased positions: $ASML (ASML Holding NV) Decreased positions: $AMZN (Amazon.com Inc) (Amazon.com Inc) $GOOG (Alphabet) (Alphabet) $UBER (Uber Technologies Inc.) SZG CP GS MU COF Closed positions: CB Feel free to ask any questions you may have, and I will reply as soon as I can.
