Of the 24 selected postions, 17 are up for the month. Notable outperformers are $GILT (Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd) , $BESI.NV (BE Semiconductor Industries NV) and $PLUS.L (PLUS 500 LTD) , adding respectively 34%, 14.9% and 14.8% on a Month to date basis. Gilat is trending higher on strong 3Q results, while at the same time securing valuable contracts. BESI is lifting on the strength in semiconductors, driven by strong results from TSMC. The seasonal portfolio has performed reasonably strong, given the Trump rhetoric on Greenland. Greenland ended up to be another TACO trade in which equities traded higher after the "Greenland" deal. Let's examine a few trades I have mentioned in the past as a play on Trump uncertainty. $GOLD is up 15% and the Van Eck Defense ETF has added almost 20% since the start of the year. So what's next for the seasonal portfolio. I'm looking to rebalance on the 2nd and 3rd of February to a new portfolio of roughly 20 names, mostly US names, with some metal industrials and a few European defense names. May the odds be ever in your favor.
