Dear copiers and followers, We are closing the month with about a 5% gain, which I am happy to report. Very strong performers included $SCCO (Southern Copper Corp), $MPWR (Monolithic Power Systems Inc), $WPM (Wheaton Precious Metals Corp), $FCX (Freeport-McMoRan Inc), and $TXN (Texas Instruments Inc), while $ROP (Roper Technologies Inc), $SAP (SAP SE ADR), $ABT.US (Abbott Laboratories), $SWKS (Skyworks Solutions), and $QCOM (Qualcomm Inc) lagged. My main concern is $SWKS. The stock is down 37% over the past year, despite a strong tech environment. It now trades at a P/E near 13, unusually low for a semiconductor company. Revenue pressure, largely due to dependence on Apple, makes this a name that deserves a deeper review to determine whether the decline is temporary or structural. $LOW (Lowe's Companies Inc) has become shariah-compliant again, narrowly, following the recent price increase. I will continue holding for now, as I don’t yet have a suitable alternative. With the next Fed Chair nominee announced, we can finally move on from another “end-of-the-world” topic. A Fed Chair matters long term, so a few thoughts are warranted. While Rick Rieder was lately seen as a front-runner, which even seemed to move gold and silver sentiment, the selection of Kevin Warsh is, in my view, the better outcome. He understands the Fed from the inside and has historically been cautious about balance-sheet expansion. Even if he adjusts his stance politically, inflation awareness and discipline still matter. The best way to deal with volatility is not to trade it. Long-term investing turns these episodes into footnotes. Gold and silver should trend higher over time, but prices currently feel frothy, driven partly by China-related supply shifts and unusual distortions in silver markets. These should normalize, eventually. Happy investing, Mehmet
