Shares of flash storage companies, including $SNDK (Sandisk Corp/DE), $STX.US (Seagate Technology PLC) and $WDC (Western Digital Corporation) retraced after a strong run earlier in the year, contributing positively to returns as market expectations became more balanced. On the long side, $PYPL (PayPal Holdings) rebounded following renewed takeover speculation, providing an additional boost to portfolio performance.
While broader equity markets remained resilient, we continue to see significant divergences between price action and underlying fundamentals across individual companies. Rather than chasing short-term momentum, we remained disciplined in our positioning, selectively adjusting exposures where our conviction changed. We believe this patient, fundamentals-driven approach is essential for preserving capital while allowing the portfolio to benefit from attractive long-term opportunities as market conditions continue to evolve.
