June Portfolio Update Although our portfolio gained 1.38% last week, we finished June down 1.18%. After the first week of July, the portfolio is down 0.16%, bringing our year-to-date performance to 0.76%. By comparison, $SPX500 $SPY (State Street SPDR S&P 500 ETF) gained 1.76% last week, finished June down 1.06%, and is now up 9.3% year to date. During the week, we increased our exposure to $META (Meta Platforms Inc), with an extra position equal to 0.88% of the portfolio. On Friday, the Nonfarm Payrolls report showed that 57k jobs were created, well below the consensus forecast of 114k. The previous month's figure was also revised lower, from 172k to 129k. Weaker-than-expected labor market data could reduce the likelihood of Fed rate hikes. This week, the FOMC minutes from the June meeting will be released on Wednesday and should provide additional insight into the Fed's current thinking and the outlook for monetary policy.
