$AVGO (Broadcom Inc) just delivered one of the strongest quarters in the entire AI sector. ✅ Revenue: $22.19B (+48% YoY) ✅ EPS beat expectations ✅ AI revenue: $10.8B in a single quarter ✅ AI revenue growth: +143% YoY And the reward? A 13% selloff. 📉 This is exactly why investing is often more about managing emotions than analyzing businesses. Let's put things into perspective: Broadcom didn't miss because the business is slowing. Broadcom didn't miss because AI demand is weakening. Broadcom didn't miss because customers are cutting spending. In fact, the exact opposite happened. The company continues to benefit from massive AI infrastructure investments from hyperscalers, while demand for custom AI accelerators, networking solutions, and data center connectivity remains exceptionally strong. The market simply wanted perfection. Wall Street was expecting even higher AI guidance and another increase in long-term targets. When management chose to remain conservative, traders hit the sell button. But as long-term investors, we should ask a different question: Has the long-term investment thesis changed? From my perspective, absolutely not. The AI revolution is still in its early innings. Every new AI model requires more compute. More compute requires more networking. More networking requires more of what Broadcom sells. That fundamental equation remains intact. A company growing AI revenue by 143% year-over-year does not suddenly become a weaker business because analysts wanted an extra billion dollars of guidance. In many cases, the best opportunities appear when market expectations become disconnected from business fundamentals. That's exactly how I view this pullback. Rather than focusing on the short-term reaction, I am focusing on the long-term opportunity. For that reason, I see this weakness as an opportunity to strengthen positions gradually and continue building exposure to one of the most important infrastructure providers powering the AI economy. The market may be disappointed today. But five years from now, I believe investors will care far more about Broadcom's role in the AI ecosystem than about a single quarter's guidance.
