On Monday, China's central bank announced that it plans to tighten bitcoin regulation, and called on several major payment systems and banks to step up measures to combat cryptocurrency trading.
The central bank sees cryptocurrencies as a risk of money laundering, as well as a threat to its economic and financial system.
On this news, $ETHEREUM lost -12% and $BTC dropped about -8%.
Overall, this news is nothing new. Everyone has known for a long time that the Chinese authorities have a negative view of cryptocurrencies and will try their best to stop them.
In my opinion, these restrictions will only increase interest among private investors. That is not the case for more conservative funds.For them, peace of mind and confidence in the future is much more important than possible profits from owning Bitcoin or Ethereum.
We can also see that any negative news is now very hot among investors, which instantly affects cryptocurrency prices. And it's worth noting that most of the drawdowns at the moment are not being bought back by investors, which shows a bearish mood towards $BTC and $ETHEREUM
