𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐈 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞? 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬. As I mentioned in my recent post about my investment strategy for 2026, I am planning to slowly increase my dividend yield to around 2%. I want to bring some light on how this is working whether you invest directly or copy someone else. There's that beautiful shift that happens in your investing journey when your dividend income starts to feel significant. Even when the market is red, the cash flow from dividends provides a solid protection. It's a form of hedging; while unrealized gains might fluctuate, the realized cash from dividends is real. It reinforces the idea that you're not just speculating on stock prices; you're a business owner earning a share of the profits. 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬: this is a shared benefit. When I receive a dividend, you receive your proportional share as well. We are benefiting from this cash flow together. My ultimate ambition is to build a portfolio where this dividend income will provide me with a solid passive income for the future. People are using dividend income to cover all their living expenses and in my opinion this the ultimate form of financial independence. My conviction in this strategy is strengthened by some of my holdings. For example, $UNH (UnitedHealth) and $NVO (Novo-Nordisk A/S SPONS ADR) have seen significant price drops recently. But their solid dividend yields soften the blow and reward my patience, it's the definition of getting paid to wait. On the stronger side, my positions in $PBR (Petroleo Brasileiro SA Petrobras-ADR) and $ARG.PA (Argan SA) are true cash-flow machines. And of course, a timeless champion like Coca-Cola just keeps delivering. Don't just focus on price appreciation. A strong, growing dividend is a sign of a healthy, disciplined company, and 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Have a nice week all!
