Hello investors.
I managed a piece yesterday, which I am very happy about. I would like to share a story with you. I'll call it "patience".
When I started investing in the second half of 2022, of course I had no experience, little capital and was learning as I went, so losses and wrong trades were understandable.
Yesterday I "sat out" the loss and sold at zero. (slight gain)
On November 15, 2022, I bought $NVAX (Novavax Inc) Novavax shares. I started, back then for $100 at a price of $24.51 apiece. I expected that Covid would be here longer and that the price would go back up. This did not happen and the company continued to decline and its debts grew quite a lot. I also later made two more purchases to get a lower average price. After the experience gained while investing and learning, I decided that I did not want to have the company in the portfolio. Despite the fact that there are hopes that a vaccine can come that will send the price up, I do not believe that it can withstand the competition and its debt. Even though the news recently came out about its $1.3 billion deal with $SNY (Sanofi-ADR) Sanofi for a Covid and flu vaccine.
This news is of course great, but the debt is still big for me and these agreements are still shaky in my opinion, because there are many companies that make vaccines and there is no guarantee that they will pass.
I am a long-term investor, but for the stability of the portfolio, which I want to gradually move towards, I no longer want to include this company, and companies in general that base everything on whether a vaccine will succeed, in the portfolio.
I'm glad I managed to be patient. To show such a strong side that you need to have if you want to be successful and that is not to sell in fear, in a slump and to be able to reverse the loss.
Thank you for reading and I will be happy for both comments and possible follow-ups. I recommend copying from at least $500 and don't forget, investing is a long shot.
Have a nice day.
