WHAT DO THE POPULAR INVESTOR STARS REPRESENT? A common question I receive is about the meaning of the stars identifying Popular Investors. While some may find the answer obvious, others might not have had the opportunity or time to look into it. Since it's a frequent topic of curiosity, here's a quick post explaining the differences. To become a Popular Investor (PI), you must meet certain requirements and submit an application. There are four levels of Popular Investors: 🔵 Popular Investor CADET (blue star) This is the level you're assigned as soon as you become a Popular investor. The entry requirements are very simple: to become a cadet, you need to have at least $2000 invested, have been on the platform for at least two months, and, of course, have set your account as copyable. It's obvious that at this level, it will be difficult to be copied, since you're normally expected to have a long enough track record to be appreciated by the public, but even at this point, you can apply and be accepted. There is no reward of any kind for Cadets. 🔴 Popular Investor CHAMPION (red star) To become a Champion you must have at least 5 people copying you, at least $50,000 of AUM (i.e. the total amount of money invested in you by copiers), at least $10,000 of invested capital and you must have been a Cadet for at least 2 months. Here too (this applies to everyone) you must never exceed, not even for a day, the Risk Score of 7. If you become a Champion, eToro starts paying you a monthly reward proportional to the capital copied by copiers, up to a maximum of 500$ per month. 🟢 Popular Investor ELITE (green star) To become Elite, you must first pass a Finance exam, and obtain a certification from a prestigious international authority (CISI, Fitch, EFPA, etc.). Other requirements are having at least 10 people copying you, with at least $400,000 of AUM, at least $50,000 of invested capital and you must have been a Champion for at least 4 months. Here too, you must never exceed, not even for a day, the Risk Score of 7. If you become Elite, the rewards become interesting with a monthly reward proportional to the capital copied by the copiers, up to a maximum of 10Mln of AUM. ⚫ Popular Investor ELITE PRO (black star) We have arrived at the "Monsters" of eToro finance. They must have obtained an additional certificate of financial skills (CISI, EFPA, etc). Other requirements are to have at least 10 people copying you, but with at least $10 million in AUM, at least $100,000 of invested capital and you must have been an Elite for at least 2 months. Here too, obviously, you must never exceed a Risk Score of 7. Here the rewards are such as to justify making being a PI a full-time job, even if there is still a ceiling beyond which you cannot grow. At this moment in the world there are more than 4000 Popular Investors but the Black Stars are only 15. For everyone, except cadets, there is an obligation to publish on the feed at least one post updating their activity on a monthly basis. ⭐ eToro recently created the PRO Investor title, recognizable by a gold cockade, to all those who have obtained a finance certification (regardless of the Popular Investor level). As of this writing, I am a PI Elite (green star) and in december '25 earned my EFPA - EFA title, which will allow me to become an Elite Pro (a "black star") upon reaching the appropriate amount of copyists.
