Dear partners, The month of May continued to see the portfolio's performance for the year at a flatline. As of this writing, the portfolio has gained 0.76% as compared to the SPX500's 7.98% and the RSP equal weighted index of 7.65%. Much of this can be attributed to two major factors, both of which stem from my own decisions and I take full responsibility. Firstly, the portfolio's divestments from the technology sector in October 2025. While this move afforded the portfolio some advantage in Q1 of 2026, it proved to be a double-edged sword as the markets recovered after March when capital flowed back into tech names. As of this writing, capital continues to flow into said sector and with juggernauts such as OpenAI, Anthropic and perhaps even SpaceX going public soon, I am of the opinion that more capital would be absorbed into the technology space (no pun intended) from others. The adage attributed to Buffett, "be fearful when others are greedy, and be greedy when others are fearful" is often quoted. We generally become more wary when excitement within the markets build up a froth. Which leads me to the second factor, the portfolio's investments in Berkshire Hathaway, our biggest holding at 8.47% and nearly twice the size of the portfolio's next largest position. Berkshire has been an anchor and one of the cornerstones of the portfolio, and with good reason. There isn't much left unsaid about how the conglomerate has performed under the direction of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger, and lesser even about both legends. However, while an anchor may provide stability in stormy seas, it also prevents progression of any sort in more favorable waters. The ship bobs in response of the waves, yet the anchor holds the craft in a general position. As of this writing in June 2026, Berkshire Hathaway is at -1.98% for the year. And with the stock taking up such a major place within the portfolio, Alderique's performance would indubitably follow. With Warren Buffett stepping down, Charlie Munger's passing (RIP), and a new CEO in Greg Abel, Berkshire Hathaway has experienced major changes over the past few years. I'll continue keeping a close eye on further developments and reduce or even cut our holdings should something seem amiss. Thank you for your continued vote of confidence, and all the best in your investment/trading endeavors. Alderique.
