FOBO is officially the new FOMO. 📉 For the past two years, the tech world was driven by FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) - everyone was rushing to add a "Chat" button to their app just to say they have AI. But that era is over. It has been replaced by FOBO - Fear Of Becoming Obsolete. We are witnessing a massive structural shift in software: Moving from "Generative AI" (Tools) to "Agentic AI" (Replacements). Generative AI was about assistance. It was a "Copilot" that sat next to you, drafting emails or suggesting code while you did the heavy lifting. Agentic AI is about autonomy. These are "Agents" that don't need a pilot. They don't just suggest a solution; they execute the entire workflow from start to finish. Why is this a "Code Red" for SaaS? If your software product’s main value is simply "digitizing a process" — like moving a paper form to a digital dashboard or organizing tasks in a grid — your "moat" has evaporated. When models like Anthropic’s Opus 4.6 (or the latest reasoning models) can interact with a computer screen, click buttons, and navigate APIs better than a human, they don't need your UI. They can bypass your dashboard entirely to get the job done. The Hard Truth: In the "Tool" era, we sold software to humans. In the "Agent" era, we are selling outcomes to businesses. If your product isn't the one powering the agent or providing the deep, proprietary data that the agent needs to think, you aren't a platform anymore. You’re just a legacy database waiting to be disrupted. The "Moat" is no longer how your software looks or feels. It's how much of the work it can actually finish without us. $NOW (ServiceNow Inc) , $ADBE (Adobe Systems Inc) , $DDOG (Datadog Inc) , $CRM (Salesforce Inc) , $TEAM (Atlassian Corp PLC A)
