Many investors and institutions are piling up on gold, essentially betting on ongoing inflation. This year gold is testing new highs on the 2000$/oz, being up over 10% YTD.

๐ญ - Both the collapse of US banks and the recent decline in the USD made gold prices jump as investors saw this commodity as a safer option.
๐ฎ - Not only that, but J. Pawl gave a hint that the March rate hike could have been the last one, which means gold could become more attractive in the future, therefore, jumping further in price.
๐ฏ - Despite recent volatility, many analysts see gold as a resilient reserve of value stating that gold stayed above 1500$/oz for the past 3 years.

๐ญ - On the other hand, many could argue that big banks are healthy as they absorbed more customers due to this recent bank failure, and their earnings reports are supporting that.
๐ฎ - Gold doesnโt pay interest, and even if the FED doesnโt hike rates anymore, there are many investment options in money markets to get a decent income with way less risk.
๐ฏ - Following the 2008 crisis and other recessive periods, we saw that Gold performs better in a bear market as FUD takes over but performs poorly in a bull market relatively speaking.

So, should you sell everything you own, max out your credit cards, get a personal credit loan, and go โall inโ in Gold? My humble opinion says probably not!
There are many mixed opinions here on this topic, on one hand some think that gold will catch up with the overflow of money pumped into the system others say that worse has been done and now we are starting a new bull market.
My take? It depends on your investment style if you can afford to absorb losses in the short term, I believe equities are still king, if not treasury bills, bonds, or corporate debt are very popular with the current rates. ๐ ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ปโ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐บ๐๐๐ฒ๐น๐ณ ๐ต๐ผ๐น๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ด๐ผ๐น๐ฑ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐ณ๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ as Iโm bullish and my portfolio is built around long-term performance, which is not the best at it.
