Started with £500, aiming for £1M. Lofty? Not really. Let me break this down for you. To turn £500 into £1m in a year of trading (accounting for NASDAQ holidays etc) we need to make a daily profit of 2.98% when accounting for compounding revenue. What do I mean by "compounding revenue"? Well if I make 3% on £100 I will make £3 which totals to £103 in my portfolio. The next day, that 3% I make is now on £103, so on day 2 the return is £3.09. Now just do that over and over again and it snowballs. 3% daily is a lofty target however. Weekly that's 15.93%. Impossible? No, but it is very tough to achieve. Yet, my first week on eToro I made a return of 26%. I make a good salary, but that is reserved for family. Instead I will boost my advances with occasional gig work.
