About the role

Compliance at eToro UK is being rebuilt AI-first. In this role, you will work on regulatory change, product governance, financial promotions, and complaints, and you will redesign how that work gets done. Expect AI-assisted regulatory horizon scanning, automated first-pass promotion review, and data-driven complaint root cause analysis, all running within a controlled, auditable framework.

You will use AI every day, decide what it should and should not do, and remain accountable for the judgement calls that must stay human. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, influence senior stakeholders, and translate complex requirements into effective policies, controls and business processes.

You will work closely with the UK Head of Compliance, senior management, Group Compliance and first-line teams, in a lean UK team where your impact is visible from day one.

How AI shapes this role

We want a compliance professional who can build and run AI-enabled workflows, not just request them. The role will combine AI-enabled execution with human review, professional judgement and escalation. The precise allocation will develop as the operating model matures:

Area

AI-enabled (you design, run and QA)

Human-led (you own the judgement)

Regulatory change

Horizon scanning, rule-to-policy mapping, gap analysis, implementation tracking, first drafts of briefing papers

Interpretation of ambiguous requirements, FCA engagement, regulatory submissions

Financial promotions

Automated first-pass review against FCA rules and house standards, issue flagging, MI on approvals

Final approval, novel or higher-risk promotions, sign-off accountability

Complaints

Triage, classification, drafting support, root-cause and theme analytics

FOS engagement, complex or vulnerable-customer cases, redress decisions

Monitoring and MI

Automated testing, continuous controls, reporting and dashboards

Control-effectiveness conclusions, escalation of material risks

Product governance

Customer-outcome analysis from complaints, incidents and customer data

Constructive challenge to first line, fair-value and target-market judgement

Responsibilities:

AI-enabled compliance

  • Build, operate and quality-assure AI-enabled compliance workflows within an appropriately controlled and auditable framework.
  • Assess which compliance processes are suitable for automation and when human judgement is required for review or approval.
  • Test AI outputs for accuracy, completeness, consistency and bias, and document the controls applied.
  • Escalate unreliable, ambiguous or higher-risk outputs rather than relying on automated conclusions.
  • Help develop practical standards for the safe and effective use of AI across UK Compliance.

Regulatory change and implementation:

  • Support the assessment and implementation of regulatory developments affecting eToro UK, including the upcoming FCA cryptoasset regulatory regime.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into practical policies, procedures, controls, governance arrangements and business requirements.
  • Maintain regulatory implementation plans, coordinating actions with relevant owners and ensuring progress is documented and evidenced.
  • Identify regulatory gaps and coordinate remediation across Compliance, Legal, Product, Operations and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare briefing papers, management information and updates for senior management and relevant governance committees.
  • Provide analysis and drafting support for regulatory submissions, FCA engagement and responses to regulatory requests, escalating areas requiring senior judgement.

Product governance and customer outcomes:

  • Provide compliance input into the design, approval, review and ongoing oversight of products, services and material product changes.
  • Support target-market analysis, product reviews, fair-value assessments and customer-outcome assessments.
  • Assess the compliance and customer-outcome implications of new products, features, distribution models and business initiatives.
  • Use complaints, monitoring results, incidents and customer data to identify themes and recommend product or process improvements.
  • Provide constructive challenge to first-line teams and escalate material risks where appropriate.
  • Support the maintenance of clear evidence demonstrating how Consumer Duty and product governance obligations are being met.

Compliance framework, policy and monitoring:

  • Contribute to the development, review and maintenance of UK Compliance policies and procedures.
  • Design and undertake risk-based compliance monitoring across regulatory obligations and business activities.
  • Assess whether controls are appropriately designed, implemented and operating effectively.
  • Maintain clear records of compliance advice, decisions, reviews, issues and remediation activity.
  • Develop training, guidance and communications to embed regulatory requirements across the business.
  • Promote consistent standards between UK and Group frameworks while ensuring UK-specific requirements are addressed.

Complaints:

  • Manage day-to-day Compliance involvement in the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) complaints process.
  • Liaise with the FOS on allocated cases and escalate complex, novel, vulnerable-customer or higher-risk matters appropriately.
  • Analyze complaints, root-cause data and customer feedback to identify regulatory, product and process improvements.
  • Prepare complaints-related reporting for Consumer Duty and other governance forums.
  • Ensure complaints themes are appropriately reflected in product governance, risk assessments, policies and monitoring.

Financial Promotions:

  • Act as a key financial promotions approver for the UK entity, reviewing campaigns and providing proportionate, risk-based advice.
  • Support the development of financial promotions procedures, guidance, training and quality-assurance controls.
  • Work with the business to improve the efficiency and consistency of the financial promotions process.
  • Monitor financial promotions activity and report material themes, risks and remediation to the appropriate governance forum.

Requirements:

  • Relevant compliance experience in financial services, preferably within a regulated fintech, investment firm, or digital platform.
  • Hands-on experience using AI, automation, data analysis or workflow tools in a professional environment, or a demonstrable ability to apply them practically.
  • Sound judgement about which activities can be automated and which require human interpretation, review or approval.
  • A proactive and improvement-focused approach, with the confidence to work independently while seeking appropriate guidance on material or complex issues.
  • Relevant experience in regulatory change, policy development, compliance advisory work or product governance.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and convert them into practical policies, controls and business processes.
  • Experience providing effective challenge and advice to senior management and first-line business teams.
  • Strong understanding of relevant UK regulations, including Consumer Duty, conduct risk and customer-outcome principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple regulatory projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience with financial promotions and/or complaints is desirable.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of digital assets/crypto is desirable.

Our Hiring Philosophy:

At etoro, AI is changing how we build, work and make decisions, and our hiring approach reflects that. We are building an AI-first organisation where people are encouraged to use AI thoughtfully.

That starts with how we hire. Throughout our recruitment process, we may use AI-enabled tools, including interview notetakers and other technologies that help us capture information accurately, improve consistency and create a better experience for candidates and interviewers. These tools support our feedback and assessment outcomes. Hiring decisions remain grounded in running fair and consistent interview processes, human judgement, critical thinking, and thorough evaluation of experience, ability and motivation that are aligned to our business and role requirements.

We also want candidates to be comfortable working with AI. Depending on the role, we may explore how you use AI tools in your day-to-day work, how you think about their opportunities and limitations, and how you would contribute to etoro’s continued AI build-out.

For us, being AI-first is not about replacing human judgement. It is about combining human expertise, creativity and accountability with technology that helps us do our best work and accelerate our growth. In the end, that's what we're hiring for: human insight, supercharged by AI.
