Our goal at eToro is to provide you with a secure online space where you can feel safe to invest, transact, and connect with our community.
Recently, there have been media reports of increased attempts to target financial institutions. These events have involved malicious actors contacting users – or other parties with access to privileged financial data – via text messages, phone calls, and social media platforms, in order to extract personal details.
At eToro, your account security is our top priority. We’re actively taking steps to protect you from any malicious activity. But remember – your vigilance is critical here, too. Please remain alert! Do not cooperate with any suspicious inquiries, including requests for personal information, login details, or verification codes.
Verified eToro representatives will never:
- Ask you to move your money to a so-called “safe account” or any other place
- Ask you for your account password or Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) code
- Ask you to deposit to a specific payment method or crypto wallet
- Ask you to move your money to an alternative eToro account
- Ask you to provide your full credit card number
- Ask for non-eToro account credentials
Verified eToro representatives will:
- Only contact you through appropriate channels, such as the email address or phone number associated with your account
- Contact you via the authentic eToro domain with @etoro.com in the address
What you can do to protect yourself:
- Keep your recovery methods up to date, such as your phone number and backup email
- Be alert for phishing emails or messages. Don’t click on links from unknown senders.
- Monitor your account activity regularly for anything suspicious
- Use strong, unique passwords for each of your accounts
- Make sure two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled
- Review eToro’s in-depth Privacy guides
