Senior Data Engineer
We're looking for a talented and experienced senior data engineer to join the Delta team and become part of the wider eToro family!
You will be working on developing, maintaining, and scaling the data & software powering our Delta platform. Delta processes an enormous amount of data, coming directly from the major stock exchanges (via Bloomberg) like Nasdaq, NYSE, Euronext, but also crypto-exchanges such as Binance, Coinbase and of course eToro. On top of this, our own unique indices (such as the Delta Global Average of Bitcoin) are computed and outliers are detected. Next to this, we run our own blockchain nodes (BTC, ETH, XRP, …) and scan all the transactions to automatically import those for our users. In short, you'll be responsible for the data ingestion & processing pipeline powering the Delta apps, including the data warehouse, serving massive amounts of users.
All this lives in the AWS cloud, leveraging infrastructure as code. We code in Typescript (and Python) and data lives in Redis or MySQL (by the way: we are experimenting with time series databases). Using Github Actions & CircleCI, our code gets tested, formatted and scanned for security issues before it gets deployed to production, which can happen multiple times per day. The full requirements are listed in full below.
You'll be working in our office in Ghent, Belgium. We're located right in the city center in a gorgeous historic building, which is pretty cool. Psst... no worries if you can't speak Dutch, we're used to communicating in English. Not looking for remote positions though.
You'll be part of a start-up which is part of a big company (eToro). Which means you'll be working within the Delta start-up mentality, surrounded by lots of experience and the empowering structure of a bigger entity. Win-win!
What else? Delta is aiming to be one of the household names in fintech, so you'll be growing an app that is already used today by hundreds of thousands of dedicated investors, every day. We get lots of feedback and even more love from our users, which is really motivating and makes everybody here even more driven to keep adding value. Recently we’ve launched a full-fledged investment tracker that allows investors to keep tabs on their stocks, indices and even funds. Our main goal is to become one of the best and most-used platforms and a household name in the fintech space. If you're up for that challenge, you'll fit right in.
We don't want to sound like a broken record but right now, we're really not looking for remote positions. Even the most awesomest of awesome applicants will unfortunately be rejected for the time being.
