Head of Compliance

Reporting to the Managing Director of Operations, as the Head of Compliance you will be accountable for setting up, owning, and driving the domestic compliance activities on a day-to-day basis with a “hands-on” approach. You are eager to build something from the scratch, especially in the fields of:

Preparing the appropriate reports for the board, demonstrating the effectiveness of the risk management and regulatory compliance framework, therefore set up and roll out MI-Reporting processes

Ensuring that the compliance team activities and outcomes deliver agreed objectives in accordance with the company and regulatory procedures.

Ensuring that senior management are kept fully informed of all regulatory matters and that any such developments are included within the compliance and risk framework

Creating and updating internal manuals and procedures as well as the domestic compliance framework (based on global existing procedures and processes – taking adaption of domestic regulation into account)

Leading and developing assigned activities and functions

Supporting management in the implementation of the business strategy

Establishing and owning a strong MaRisk Compliance function

Owning, steering, controlling, and overseeing all outsourcing agreements

Owning the whole Regulatory Reporting of the German entity in cooperation with Finance Director, developing a regulatory calendar and ensuring timelines for regulatory needed reports

Participating in domestic project initiatives

Conducting annual employee compliance trainings

Overseeing the risk controlling for the German entity

Monitoring regulatory requirements, regulations and standards for Compliance and domestic IT Security needs

Working tightly with domestic regulators (Bundesbank, BaFin) and local Senior Management

Providing guidance to internal stakeholders and drafting memoranda on A-Z regulatory compliance topics

 

Required:

 

6-10 years of experience working with financial institutions (preferably FinTech) regarding compliance

Excellent relationship management skills

Experience in interacting with German regulators

Comfortable working in a high-performance environment with a substantial degree of autonomy

Have an intrinsic adaptability and ability to grow with new challenges

“Out of the Box” mindset, pragmatic thinking

English and German languages

CCP qualification is a plus

Experience in Crypto Currencies/Blockchain regulation is a plus

You must be eligible to work in Germany and eligible to work in this role when nominated towards BaFin
