DuPont de Nemours Inc. is an American corporation founded in 1802. It was primarily engaged in biotechnology and manufacturing chemicals and pharmaceuticals, producing black powder and other explosives until the 20th century. Now, DuPont produces a broad range of industrial and agricultural chemicals; synthetic fibres such as polymers, teflon, and lycra; building materials; packaging materials; and cosmetic ingredients. It is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, and operates plants, subsidiaries, and partners worldwide.
DuPont delivers an extensive range of technology-based products and solutions catering to various industries such as performance materials for healthcare components, coating, and colour technologies, building materials, agriculture and nutrition, and innovative water solutions for safer water consumption. On top of many awards received, one significant award is the 2020 Heroes of Chemistry Award given by the American Chemical Society (ACS) to 10 DuPont Scientists. In 2017, the company merged with Dow Chemical and changed its name to DowDuPont, with DuPont operating as a subsidiary. The merger only lasted until 2019, when Dow separated from Dow DuPont to become a leading material science company.
DuPont continues to serve its customers through its different brands such as Kevlar, Nomex, Corian, Tyvek, Molykote, GREAT STUFF, and Styrofoam, among others. Dupont trades on the NYSE under the ticker DD.
