In February 2021, the company announced the completion of its merger with Saracen Mineral Resources in a stock deal, allowing the Kalgoorlie Golden Mile to be consolidated under a single owner for the first time in 125 years. In November 2021, Northern Star Resources announced that it had agreed to acquire Newmont’s power business from Newmont Australia in a deal for $95m. The acquisition is expected to lower costs at Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Limited and provide greater control over the supply of electricity. Stock for Northern Star Resources is available on the Australian Securities Exchange under the ticker NST. It has been listed on the exchange since January 2004.
