It mainly specialises in engineering designs and project deliveries in the resources, chemical, and energy sectors. Based in Northern Sydney, Australia, Worley operates internationally, serving multinational customers.

Worley operates through its Advisian, Energy & Chemical Services, Mining, Minerals & Metal Services, Major Projects, and Integrated Solutions segments. The company emphasises technological advancements through digitalisation. Worley promotes sustainability initiatives through its Comprimo®, Chemetics®, and JESA brands. Jointly these brands address all sulphur-related concerns and aim to produce cleaner fossil fuels.

As of March 2022, it runs its projects in 49 countries worldwide, across Europe, Asia, North and Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. In 2022, the company was also awarded a front-end engineering and design contract by VPI Immingham LLP. This contract is for a post-combustion carbon capture facility, linking with the UK Humber Zero project.
