Xero Limited is a software-as-a-service company based in Wellington, New Zealand. The company offers cloud-based accounting software known as Xero, which connects small businesses with their advisors. Xero Limited was incorporated in 2006 and operates internationally.

Xero Limited operates its business through two segments: Australia and New Zealand, and International. In addition to the cloud-based Xero, the company also offers a Xero mobile app, which supports invoice management, bank reconciliation, contract management and reporting. The company also supplies a variety of tools designed for accountants and bookkeepers, including Xero HQ, Xero Workpapers, Xero Cashbook or Xero Ledger, Xero tax tools and Xero Practice Manager. The company’s clients are spread across a range of industries, including retail, e-commerce, information technology, non-profit, startups, construction and hospitality.

In November 2021, Xero acquired US-based Locate Inventory, an inventory management provider, in a deal for $19m. The company plans to embed the Locate software into its own offering. In December 2021, Xero announced the acquisition of Canada-based TaxCycle, an accounting software provider. TaxCycle is expected to continue to operate as a standalone brand. Stock for Xero is publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange under the ticker XRO, where it has traded since December 2012.
