What Is Groupe ADP?
Groupe ADP (ADP.PA) is a French airport operator whose initials stand forAéroports de Paris. The company operates over 25 international airports as well as owning and managing the three Paris airports united under the brandParis Aéroportsince 2016 -Charles de Gaulle,OrlyandLe Bourget Airports. Groupe ADP also holds a major (46.1%) minority stake in TAV Holdings, the largest airport operator in Turkey.
In 2008, an agreement was reached with Royal Schipol Groupe, the international Dutch airport operator based at Amsterdam’s Schipol Airport, for the mutual exchange of an 8% shareholding in each other’s companies. The strategic partnership makes the ADP-Schipol alliance, the world’s largest in airport operations.
ADP started life as a government-owned company in 1945 and the company remained fully in the public sector until 2005, when the French government listed a minority stake of the company on the Euronext Paris stock exchange. Groupe ADP is also a member of the mid-cap CAC Mid 60, comprised of the 60 largest French public companies by market capitalisation after the CAC 40 and CAC Next 20.
