Asana, Inc. is an application software company specialising in task management solutions that enable teams to allocate tasks, set deadlines, and monitor the progress of projects. Incorporated in 2008, the company is headquartered in the San Francisco, California. Asana operates internationally and has office locations in Dublin, London, Munich, New York, Reykjavik, Sydney, Tokyo, Vancouver, and Singapore.

The company’s software as a service platform (SaaS) enables individuals and teams to expedite work while enhancing work coordination. This platform includes e-mail integration, which allows. team members to share their contributions to the overall task, assign different work components to colleagues, comment on each other’s ideas, and add attachments. Asana launched an additional “Dashboards” feature in September 2020 that provides multiple customisable charts. These automatically populate with new project developments in real-time, including pinpointing overdue work and stress-points such as an overworked colleague.

Initially known as Smiley Abstractions, the company changed its name to Asana, Inc. in 2009. The founders of this organisation, Dustin Moskowitz and Justin Rosenstein, first worked as engineers on the Facebook team before venturing out to establish Asana. As of February 2022, the company had more than 100,000 active company subscribers and millions of teams using the platforms. Asana trades on the NYSE under the ASAN stock ticker.
