Copa Holdings, SA is the parent company of Copa Airlines and its subsidiary, Copa Airlines Colombia. Based in Panama, the company was founded in 1947 and serves customers across North, Central, and South America, as well as within the Caribbean. Copa is a leading provider of both airline passenger and cargo services in the Latin American market, operating a fleet of 102 aircraft as of the end of 2019.
Copa launched publicly in December 2005 and trades on the NYSE under the ticker CPA. In October 2020, the CPA price chart indicated a 52-week low of $24.00 and a 52-week high of $116.88. The company pays a cash dividend, and in 2020 had a dividend yield of 6.13%.
The company launched a low-cost business model, Wingo, in 2016 to compete with other low-cost carriers in the area. In early 2020 it was offering around 360 scheduled daily flights to 80 destinations across 33 countries. Copa also has code-share arrangements with various other airlines and a strategic alliance with United Airlines, which further expands the services that the company can offer.
