Assicurazioni Generali, also known as the Generali Group, is an Italian insurance company based in Trieste, Italy. The company was established in 1831 and has expanded to become one of Europe’s leading insurance companies, with a presence in 50 countries across the globe. The firm’s UK branch was opened in London in 1963.

As of 2019, the Generali Group is the largest company of its kind in Italy and one of the top ten worldwide. It employs around 72,000 people, serving 61 million customers across Europe, Asia and Latin America. The firm provides a range of innovative insurance solutions for both individuals and businesses, including life insurance, health insurance, property and casualty insurance, and various insurance products for companies and organisations.

Stock for Generali Group is listed on the Borsa Italiana under the ticker G. The company’s stock has been listed on the Borsa Italiana stock exchange since December 1986. The Generali Group is included in international benchmark indices, including the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index. On 31 March 2021, Generali Group acquired AXA Insurance S.A. in Greece. On 1 February 2022, the company announced the acquisition of La Médicale, an insurance company for healthcare professionals, from Crédit Agricole Assurances in a deal for €435m.
