VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF aims to follow the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the MVIS Global Junior Gold Miners Index. This fund was launched in November 2009 and is domiciled in Ireland. VanEck, an investment management company founded in 1955 and based in New York, administers the VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF. When founded, the company was initially known as International Investors Incorporated.
The fund specifically tracks the comprehensive performance of small-capitalisation companies primarily focused on the mining of gold and/or silver. Following a blended investment style, VanEck Vectors Junior Gold Miners ETF mainly invests in companies of developed countries, with the majority of assets invested in Canada and Australia. This fund targets small and early-stage mining companies. Some of the companies are early-stage explorers with upside potential. The ETF also seeks out high beta exposure to gold prices and high liquidities with greater trading volumes.
VanEck Vectors Junior Gold Miners ETF uses US dollars as its base currency. The top five holdings are Pan American Silver Corporation, Evolution Mining Ltd., Yamana Gold, Inc., Endeavour Mining Corporation, and Merdeka Copper Gold TBK PT. This fund is listed on the NYSE under the GDXJ ticker.
