This exchange traded fund endeavours to invest at least 80% of its assets in the securities of this index and retains 20% for the possible investment in certain futures, options and swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents, and securities not included in the mentioned index. The fund was launched in 2006 and is based in New York.

BlackRock, Inc. created and manages the iShares U.S. Medical Devices ETF. The company, which was founded in 1988, is a global investment manager and controls several exchange traded funds. This specific ETF uses US dollars as base currency and only invests in the United States. The bulk of the fund’s investments is allocated in the healthcare sector, with minor investments in the technology and industrial markets.
