About iShares Core S&P Small-Cap ETF
The iShares Core S&P Small-Cap ETF is an exchange traded fund that seeks to track the investment results of the S&P SmallCap 600 Index, an index composed of small-capitalization U.S. equities. The fund is managed by Blackrock, a major international financial company, and a provider of a broad range of ETFs, which is headquartered in New York City. The fund was established in 2000.
The fund aims to provide investors with a simple way to invest in approximately 600 of the top small cap stocks in the U.S. market in a convenient, low cost and tax efficient way. The fund has holdings across a range of sectors, including healthcare, industrials, real estate, consumer discretionary, and information technology. The index that the fund tracks measures the performance of the small-capitalization sector of the U.S. equity market, as determined by SPDJI.
The fund will generally invest at least 80% of its assets in the component securities of the underlying index and in investments that have economic characteristics that are substantially identical to the component securities of its index. The fund is listed on the NYSE under the stock ticker IJR.
